Grade JK - SK

Jr. Kindergarten

Our Junior Kindergarten students learn to cooperate as a community of learners while being exposed to a stimulating environment. The JK program will excite your child's imagination and encourage cognitive development. Our program provides young children with opportunities to develop their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being. Through interaction with classmates and the Haadi community, each child develops an attachment to something larger than himself.

A secure, warm and encouraging environment greets each child at 8:30 A.M. that lasts throughout the day. The caring teaching staff consists of a full-time teacher and educational assistant for up to 20 children. The children in this full-day program receive exemplary instruction in all curricular areas, including and not limited to French and Arabic. There are also opportunities for participation in student performances, library activities, computer instruction and field trips.

We strive to provide a curriculum that develops the positive disposition a young child should have towards learning. These traits include curiosity, resourcefulness, independence, initiative, responsibility and wonder. At the same time, these young learners construct the essential skills of literacy and numeracy in preparation for Senior Kindergarten.

Sr. Kindergarten

The goals of Junior Kindergarten are extended as children move on to Senior Kindergarten. Here the goal is to consolidate emergent literacy and numeric skills in preparation for the increased academic demands of Grade One. Enhancing skills in critical thinking and problem solving are important objectives as the Senior Kindergarten student continues to explore his or her world. A variety of teaching methods - including individual, small group, whole class and free choice activities - all contribute to the successful preparation for Grade One.

Guided by our capable and conscientious teachers, these students develop in a holistic manner as our curriculum integrates language and play with social and emotional development. During this alternate full-day program beginning at 8:30 A.M. with dua, the students receive expert teaching instruction, including subject-specific teaching in French and Arabic.
